Track & performance driving

For drivers who want more than a road test. Learn what a car does at the limit on a closed skid pad, spend a coached day at a road course, or get to know a 500-horsepower car before you own one.

A coached day

How a track day runs

We book days at a road course within reach of Cleveland, April to October. It is not racing: there is no timing for position, and passing is only on the straights.

Pit lane: walking pace, always. These are GT4 race cars; a track day uses road cars.
  1. 07:00

    Tech inspection

Brakes, tires, fluids, loose items out of the cabin, helmet checked. Our cars arrive already inspected.

  2. 07:45

    Drivers’ meeting

Flags, passing zones, the pit-lane speed limit and what happens if you spin. Nobody skips it.

  3. 08:30

    Five sessions on track

Twenty minutes each, your coach in the passenger seat on a radio headset: the line through each corner, where to brake, where to look.

  4. 16:30

    Debrief

Lap times are nice. The notes are better: the two things to fix next time, written down.

The cars

Porsche, BMW M, Mustang, AMG

Track days run in our Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS or BMW M4 Competition. Performance sessions on the road add the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, the Ford Mustang Dark Horse and the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S and GT 63. Or bring your own car: we coach in anything that passes tech.

A silver Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS with bronze wheels and a large rear wing drives along a park road past bare trees, picnic tables and an orange traffic barrel.
A red Ford Mustang convertible with its black soft top raised drives along a wet road in the rain, past a parked car and low commercial buildings.

The car control clinic

Half a day on a wet skid pad does more for winter driving than a season of luck. You feel the car slide at twenty-five miles an hour, with nothing to hit, and learn the two or three movements that bring it back. We recommend it before a first track day, and to every new driver once they pass.
